New York Times
In 2018, I entered the "Show Us Your Generation" New York Times Learning Network Photography Contest. I chose to visualize the issue of mental health amongst my generation. I won the contest and The Learning Network published my photo on the New York Times website, along with 35 other young photographers. Winning this contest validated my voice as a young journalist and photographer, encouraged me to continue pursuing journalism for the rest of high school, and allowed me to see that what mattered to me, mattered to others as well. Later, Brazilian Educational Publishing Company reached out to me and this photo is now printed in 20,000 copies of an English textbook.

Orlando Weekly and The School of the New York Times
During the summer of 2020, protests against racial injustice broke out across the nation. I felt compelled to document the events that took place in Downtown Orlando. With the help of my adviser, Bridgette Norris, I sent my photos to Orlando Weekly and they published 17 of them in three different online articles regarding the protests that took place (pictured left). In addition to Orlando Weekly, The School of the New York Times picked up one of my photos and posted it on their Instagram account to showcase student photojournalists (pictured above). When I was photographing, I realized that no one is ever too young to go out in their community and share what is happening with others. They just have to have the drive and passion to pick up their camera and go. This is an experience I will remember for the rest of my life and one that encouraged me in my photojournalistic abilities. You can view the articles my photos are included in here:

Walsworth Yearbooks
I took this photo in 2019, before a senior pep rally and used it in the 2020 Legend Yearbook. I submitted it to the FSPA 2020 Spring Digital Contests and recieved an honorable mention in Student Life Photography. Walsworth, the yearbook publisher my high school uses, used the photo in promotional tweets.
